Transformation

Fall 2020 | Professor Intisarameen Tyne

This project was during my first semester at KU and it was the first project where I experimented with light. We did light studies with common objects found in our dorm, observing how light entered this mini environment. The main question of this project was: How does light create and define a space?

These are two study images made with a paper model of a person to create a sense of scale. The first structure was made with a jewelry tray, the second was a colander. When combined with lighting and perspective, these common objects create a unique and interesting space. These images informed my final model.

This is a diagram of the final model, made from a single piece of paper, showing cuts and folds and where each section goes.
